Maria (24 / Ms. ), Italian & American, Student living in USA looking for Au Pair & Nanny job in Italy for 2-4 Months

I grew up in a neighborhood with many children and a large community atmosphere. From the ages of 14-18, I was the neighborhood babysitter. I took care of children between the ages of 5-13 during the evenings, during days where their parents had work, and took them to and from camp as well as after-school activities during the summer. I developed a bond with these children and have created fond memories of my time babysitting them.

At university, I worked at the Cornell Cooperative Extension, an after-school program in upstate New York for elementary school students dedicated to teaching farm life, local traditions, and helping them develop an appreciation for the region. I organized activities, made them meals using local produce, and supervised them during outdoor activities.

During COVID-19, I was a volunteer with the Community of Sant'Egidio in Rome. I worked with Giovani di Sant'Egidio at an after-school center for elementary and middle school children. I assisted the children with English homework, practiced speaking English with them, and supervised them during the after-school hours.

Additionally, I was a volunteer at a local elementary school in a classroom for students with special needs. In this role, I organized games, English and outdoor activities.

Most recently, in my role as a Program Coordinator, I was responsible for coordinating summer camps for high school aged children. I organized activities, managed their meals, and ensured their safety during camp activities.

I have profoundly enjoyed these responsibilities and seek the opportunity be an Au Pair this summer because I thoroughly enjoy spending time with children and find it rewarding to help them learn and grow.
